Honda Bolt Sizes
« on: July 20, 2010, 05:01:44 PM »
I'm at the very last stages of my rebuild and before taking it in for the saftey inspection tomorrow, I need to replace a few bolts that either broke or got lost in the process. The only problem is every parts list I find for these bolts, lists vague bolt sizes, and I'm having difficulty finding out what the equivilent bolts are. This is how Honda has them listed (taken from the bike bandit parts list):

BOLT, FLANGE (8X50) [this mates with NUT, FLANGE (8MM)]

BOLT, FLANGE (6X16) (no nut)

BOLT, FLANGE (6X8) (no nut)

A couple of them I can just bring with me to measure, but the first one is actually lost so I have nothing to bring with me. Any help would be great. Thanks :)

That first bolt would be an M8 x 1.25 pitch bolt 50mm from the base to the bottom of the flange. The other two would be M6 x 1.0 pitch bolts one 8mm from base to flange one 16mm.

I'm assuming the thread pitch, I haven't seen many, if any regular bolts on my CB that don't use standard coarse metric thread pitch for their given size.

Thanks for confirming this for me. This is what I thought, but I've made so many trips to hardware stores, I'm truly hoping this is my last one for a little bit.
