Topic: Would you use a nice light oil, or a nice light grease to lube the advance?

Quick question, I have a really nice bicycle oil that I think would be perfect, or a have a generic white grease.  Just wondering what you guys thinks.

Don't use white (lithium) grease. It's not a lubricant, but a protectant. The reason the old grease in there looked white was because it has absorbed moisture from the air.
Use 20w50 oil or VERY thin layer of conventional grease.

Thanks Mark, the old crap that was in there was a reddish colour, not sure what it was.  I ended up using the oil.  It's called Tri Flow.  Has a teflon additive.  It was my favourite lube at the bicycle shop I worked at.  I wonder if it will hold up though, what do you think?

The bike definitely like the clean up though!  I think I'll have to just touch up the timing tomorrow.
