On my 78 750, the clutch hub goes on two different ways, but only one is right. Turn it around 180deg see if that helps... I am assuming you readjusted the clutch after reinstallation... As far as the carbs, adjusting the needle shouldnt make the carbs leak... probably need a good cleaning. Use the search bar to find your answers, I am sure they are there.

There is a ball bearing that goes between the clutch actuator and the clutch rod.  It falls out easily, and is hard to notice.  Take the cover off and make sure it is in there.  This is a very common mistake, and easily fixed by putting the ball back in place.

I hope that is all it is.

I just ordered carb kits to replace the needle and seats.  Were do I start with clutch adjustment? The adjustor with the lock nut on the left side? Its in the middle. I think.  I undid the 4 bolts and just pulled the plates out and put new ones in. I didnt pull the hole housing out. Any help would be much appreciated

If it's anything like my 650 you slacken everything from the clutch lever down then start adjusting from the right side of the motor.
Hold the centre nut with a size 10 open ender and the centre screw with a decent bladed screw driver.
Slacken the nut then wind the screw in until it just touches the actuating plate, then back it off a fraction and then tighten the lock nut again while still holding the screw in place with the screw driver.
That's the actual clutch adjusted, then take the slack out of the cable using the lower cable adjuster, then move up to the handle bars and see if the lever needs slack or adjustment.
That is the basics of clutch adjustment, of course it won't work if you left something like the actuating plate out (don't ask, I don't like to talk about it!) ;D
