Topic: Will dust covers for a '77 cb750 fit on my '74 cb750k4?

I'd like to replace my gator boots with some dust seals/dust boots.  I've been told that the dust covers off 77 to 78 models will fit mine.  Before I order a set was wondering if anybody had switched successfully.

should fit just fine,we used them to dress up the sliders in the long fork tube "chopper" days of the later 70's

I'm curious what one does with the ugliness exposed by the gator boots. Also, even if your upper fork tubes are shiny-pretty, are you gonna run those stock headlight ears or retrofit the F-model ears which leave the tubes exposed?  Hey! Idea: Put a second set of dust covers upside-down at the base of the stock ears. Anyone think that would work? And if so would be ugly as #$%*?

I'm using cheapy after market headlight brackets and clip-ons.  At some point I'll buy some new fork tubes...but until then I think I'm going to paint the ugliness at the top of the fork tubes black.  Doubling up on the dust covers sounds like kinda cool.

yes, that is inspiring.  I will be doing the same at some point...although new exhaust system is first on the list
