im really digging the red cb100. i know theyre different from each other, but they caught my eye. im also in texas and i'd have to set up a shipping arrangement. its risky, but would you? lemme know what you think about all the angles. GO!

There's a very good reason Hinda went to a 400-4.  I know some people claim to like their 350, but they probably weight 98 pounds wet.  Good luck to him.

The C200 has been stepped on way too much.  Never trust a seller who can't be bothered to take some good pictures.

That 100 looks like a gas!  What FUN!  Just keep in mind that 50mph is going to be screaming top speed (on a good day).   Still, it sure looks tasty.

The 350 for 3 grand??!  Way too much.

The 100 for 2 grand?  Still way too much.

The C200 with a chinese motor?  Well, that seems a little more in line anyway, but +1 on the crappy pictures.


But, those 100's have a LOT of potential - the larger port/valve 2-piece heads, bigger cams, bigger carbs, bore kits, stroker kits, all readily available and bolt-on!  Woo Hoo!    I'm building my own 125 cafe, and it'll be very similar to the 100.  But, not for 2 grand!

If the 100 is as nice as the pictures seem to indicate- pats and labor- $2K is reasonable.   Professional paint could get close to $800 alone.   
Hard to tell from pictures on CL, though.

I resemble that remark! I love mine more than any bike i've ever ridden. But i weigh 125 on a good day haha.

Why not build your own? That's what this forum is all about. 

aside from friends and family riding, im totally new to this and want to embrace every aspect of it. i want to be able to build my own bike one day for sure, but ive got to start somewhere. ive been skating my entire life and i know how it feels to go thirty through a red light on two feet, a piece of wood and some swiss bearings. lemme make an attempt with an engine and two wheels there tough guy. (all due respect, of course)

A quick perusal of the Austin Craigs List shows a 250 Ninja for sale.  Great bike, if you're willing to stop at red lights.  You need to know that only your mother will care if you get hurt- absolutely NO ONE else. 
In fact, many people wish bikes would just go away.

I'm a chick, actually. I've been riding since I was 4 yo. Nice to meet you. I won't even go into how many people started with a crap bike for their very 1st motorcycle and rebuilt it with the help of the people on this forum. My other 1/2 included who, up until she had bought a crapper of a CB650, had never even sat on a cycle in her life. Btw, hers won bike of the month in March of this year and she is working on a CL350 cafe now. Yes, you can have someone else build one for you, there's no shame in that, but you still won't know anymore than you do now except how expensive it is for parts on these things. I'm not sure why you came to us then, honestly. You want to build a bike but you want someone else to do it for you? You also haven't done your homework and are unsure what bike or kind of bike you even want. You apparently haven't been looking at what prices you should be paying either.

All I was saying was, it's hard but not impossible. Why not give yourself the chance and if you get stuck then get some help? If you want to take offense to that then maybe you should have someone else build you a bike because you need patience and a cool head to have an older bike like these. No matter who builds it for you or does the mods, it will still be a vintage bike and will have problems. I hope you pay attention to what they do to it so you don't get stranded anywhere. It will happen, it's just a question of where and when. Good luck. Enjoy riding. That's what it's all about afterall.

no sweat at all , and no offense taken. im in the middle of watching , learning and loving my new beast. i'll definitely post pics as its being built.  i appreciate every single response i've gotten from you folks.
