They're ok - if you get it, I have a complete engine with less than 3,000 miles on it, I'd sell for $100.
Good to have a spare......

Toady, but fun.  Easy to mess with and usually cheap.  Personally, I like them.

I have one. It's my wife's bike. I steal it and ride it whenever I can.  ;D The bike has no problem carrying myself (200 lbs +) and my wife (a gentleman does not disclose) at 70 mph down the highway.

Her's is pretty much as bone stock as you can get. I've been looking around for another one. I figure It could be a fun little project bike.

I bought the bike! Rode around town and it's feels strongish.

There is a leak in the left fork, which I've fixed before on an 82 nighthawk. Suspension didn't bottom out in front or rear, which is good. Should I mess with the other fork while I'm at it?

Overall, I'm not sure how well the bike is running since the only bike I have to compare with is a 2008 bike. Any suggestions on how to evaluate things?

Clymer manual on the way.

I think the CDI unit on the one I had was bad.  Never got off the ground with it...

Hey there,
I just picked up off craigslist a 78 Honda Hawk CB400T II for $230.  It is not running, but it is in fantastic shape.  It has been stored inside for most of its life. The seat is perfect and the gauges are still dark.  Original paint and very little rust.  It has intermittent weak spark. I've got it to pop a couple times with starter fluid right to the head, but no more.  I disassembled both carbs completely and blew out all the jets.  I think maybe CDI box.  well see.
