The wiring is 1 sq. mm area, the metric way of measuring. This is just slightly smaller than 17 AWG wire, which is basically not made. So 18 AWG is a bit smaller and 16 AWG is a bit bigger. I would use 16 for the high current wires (all blacks, red, and the ignition coil, alternator, rectifier, and regulator wires) and 18 for the rest. 14 AWG would be good for the red/white wire from battery to fuse block.
