A whopping 5,000 out of how many million that probably shared the movie?  And they'll have to get the ISPs to cooperate and give them the names of the people associated with the IP addresses.  Sounds like a long, expensive process that's been proven in the past to have no effect on the amount of illegal file sharing.  It's a losing battle.  Music and filmmakers are still trying to make the old way work in the new technological age, and they'll continue to lose as long as they do.

I feel bad for the downloaders....mostly because they ended up with a movie that was a disappointment.

I don't know, it wasn't that bad, but it definitely isn't worth 15 grand!  :o

"On any Sunday" great movie, saw it in the 70's when I owned a Suzuki T350, had me smiling all weekend. :D

I think "Precious" "Avatar"or "A Serious Man" should have won over "The Hurt Locker"

My personal favourites of the year were Inglourious Basterds, Avatar, and Zombieland.

But then again we all have varying tastes. I'm no great movie critic, but I do have a great appreciation for good filmmaking. I think that "Blackhawk Down" or "Jarhead" were far better examples of what a war zone does to people.

As far as the main character in the Hurt Locker, if he was in my section, he would have been pulled inside the wire at the first hint of any "cowboy antics" I just felt that main part of the storyline was unrealistic.

my 2 cents

Dances with (Blue people in place of Wolves) better than the Hurt Locker, Come on Man!!!  >:(

Didn't see Precious, Serious Man was entertaining, but you are really going to say Avatar was BETTER than the Hurt Locker?!?!?!?

Yeah, Locker wasn't exactly total reality based, but what Hollywoodized movie is?

Avatar, ye makes me chuckle and snortle.  :D

yes, it was better, and the box office #'s agree...hurt locker was really....pointless...at least avatar told a story, hurt locker seemed to be retelling every war story out there, and not any better mind you...

And Avatar is not a blatant ripoff of Dances with Wolves and every other animated paint-by-numbers movie with an environmental message shoved right in your face?

Isn't pointlessness kind of part of the war experience?

Ha!! ;D  I haven't seen The Hurt Locker yet, but that kind of reasoning is like saying that Bud Light is the best beer in the world just because it sells more than any other. ::)  The money people are willing to spend on something has little if nothing to do with its quality, especially when it comes to movies.

The Hurt Locker provided me and my girlfriend some new names for different things, like the Hurt Kitchen for when she's cooking, the Hurt Bathroom for a couple hours after she cooks, the Hurt Bedroom for..., etc.  Good stuff.

Yes, I am going to say Avatar was better than Hurt Locker, obviously you don't agree. That's your right. But at least Avatar was exactly what it was advertised as. Hurt Locker was sold to the public as a "real" look inside the war. Bull#$%^. it wasn't a real look at anything except....never mind

As for Avatar's "environmental message", well, I happen to agree with it and liked the way it was presented.

Hurt Locker.....didn't agree with the message it sent nor the way it was presented. It comes down to perspective. I don't normally watch war movies because they seem to continuously miss the mark and rarely capture the essence of the situation and characters.

No, you have missed the point. Hurt locker was not about war, it was about how war effects a person. Some guys just re up over and over since they have become so addicted to the rush, they cannot get back into a normal life. There are a lot of guys like that, people think they lost it when they came back, they lost it way before that, it only shows up back here. It was a very sad story and well acted.
