Topic: CB750 k1 forks

Hey all,

I'm new here and to the cb world. My friend and I just picked up a '71 750 that runs but needs a little lovin. The previous owner had put on +4 forks. I really want to return it back to original, but cannot find anything on ebay or craigslist for a k1. I was wondering whether forks from any other years would fit on my K1. And if they don't bolt right up how hard is it to retro fit them.

The main difference that I am aware of between the K1 forks and later models is the mounting of the caliper to the fork leg. I have been told that the change was some where around K3? I know the caliper bracket from a K1 will not bolt to a K7 fork leg.

 I am not sure that cycle X has the early ones.. they are different than k3

 Yours can be shortened by anyone that knows how to run a lathe and is carefull..  get a price first tho..

CAll or write cycle x they will know its just the fork tubes you need not the legs.

Forks by frank can get you new tubes too. Maybe forking by frank google it...

The K1 tubes are different than the ones available from CycleX.  The K0 - K1 forks are completely different than the later ones internally and externally.  Forking by Frank has the correct tubes.  http://www.frankmain.qpg.com/
