80' cb650c running lean...?

when i cover the air intake with my hand it revs up, i havent adjusted the needles or anything just cleaned the carbs quite a few times to finally getting all the pipes getting hot....but i have to use the choke to keep it running.... any help here???

How are the air cut off valves?   What revs are you keeping it at?  Have you messed with the carb adjustment screws?

could be low gas level in the carbs, the extra vacuum from applying your hand or the choke raises the fuel height. are you sure your float heights are correct and pilot/slow jet and passageways are clear

i put a clear hose on the drain of the bowls and they are at about the top of the bowl on everyone....i never touched the air cut off valves a guy on here told me that they never usually have to be replaced what revs idk because the tachometer doesnt work lol but it really revs up pretty high
