Topic: Wet garage!!!!

My 2 1/2 year old son just hosed down the entire contents of my garage.

We went outside and I told him we were going to give the motorcycle a bath.  I ran back inside to get my phone and some sunscreen, and stupidly left the hose turned on and the motorcycle inside the garage.  He knows how to use the sprayer attachment because I let him play with it outside on hot days.  He did a great job of hosing down the motorcycle, but also soaked pretty much everything else in the garage.   Including all of my motorcycle and car shop manuals, and the stereo, and the TV, and a stack of old vhs movies that I've been meaning to bring inside, and some power tools, etc...

I really am amazed at how thorough he was with the short amount of time given!

I'm just happy that I didn't have my laptop or iPod out there like I normally do anytime I'm spending time in the garage.  That would have really sucked!

So far it looks like the only things that need replacing are the clymer manuals for the 550 and 750, as they were sitting in the front of the stack.  The stereo is still going strong, and only the front and top of the TV were hosed where there are no vent slots.  I'm pretty sure the power tools will be fine as long as I let them dry thoroughly before trying to use them.  All of the RC car stuff escaped unscathed as it was all sitting behind a stack of boxes that I've also been meaning to bring inside for a while.  I guess procrastination has its benefits sometimes.

The joys of fatherhood, was he handy while washing the bike?  Kids love washing spoked wheels.....

Man, you are SO lucky that you only had some stuff get wet! NEVER turn your back on a toddler, even for an instant. In Phoenix, every year, so many tots drown, usually when left alone for only "a minute or two". Consider it a wake up call...

      Whoa! Sure glad things didn't get too messed up there. Also glad he didn't hose down something electrical that could have gotten HIM hurt as well.

      ALSO have found that procrastination has helped ME out now and then.

Parenting advice is a touchy subject, and 100 times more-so when it's of the unsolicited kind and coming from someone the parent in question doesn't even know. 

Here's some unsolicited life advice.  Keep it to yourself unless 1) you know the person very well, and 2) you have good reason to believe they want your advice on the subject. 

I'm sure your intention is good, but it's rarely if ever taken that way when parenting is the subject.
