« on: June 03, 2010, 12:23:00 PM »
my 71 cb750k1 is blowing oil out the front coner  "crankcase cover i think" at high rpms under load while riding.  is there a gasket somewhere in there that is bad?  or is the gasket for the cover bad?  someone has to know..i dont want to hurt my bike...  is there a crankcase pressure release of some kind?  you all have been so helpful in the past.  thank you

I think you'll have to supply a bit more information or even better a pic or two before you'll get much advice on this question.
Is it the alternator side or the points side of the c/case? or is it between the barrels & the c/case?
I'm sure help will come.
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators.
We haven't met yet.

Left or right side?
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

There is a vent on the back of the cam cover. Should have a tube that drops behind the motor near the swingarm pivot. There is also a vent tube from the inside, top of the oil tank. The most common source of spewing oil on K1's is the oil tank vent drain, which should be connected to the nipple on the lower rear crankcase. That's the best I can guess, without more info.

EDIT; the oil tank drain comment should be followed with an "ask me how I know" ;)
