stripped oil filter housing bolt on k5

im not the most the most mechanically knowledgeable person, how should i go about getting it out, im 2/3 done draining the oil and really want to finish before it rains. thankyou in advance for your help

No problem man. Good luck with your fix. Let us know how you solve it. Depending on how bad that bolt is I often wondered if a pipe wrench could get enough bite on it.

I had to hacksaw mine off.  That was before I owned a dremel tool though.  I often wonder how I ever lived without a dremel tool...

Hammer a smaller size 12 point socket or 6 if you can on the end,works good when they are really chewed up.It will get a good bite and probably come off and get that new bolt.

thanks for all your help guys, i made a trip to sears and got some socket type bolt extractors which took care of the bolt really fast next on the list to buy, torque wrench.
