cb750 plug question
« on: January 08, 2014, 09:26:00 AM »
Hi guys
CB750 K0
all stock..exsaust,carbs,coils,plug caps..just dyna-s is the only improvement..
The bike just finish and i s ready to run in the engine
I have the habit to turn the petcock to off position after i stop the bike
Today i was gonna start the bike after 2-3 days..
I start the engine and number 2 plug was dead..i put a new one and everything worked great
i know that i didnt put the correct plugs on but the closest i could find was DR8ES
Could the R(resistance) on my plug to cause this fail of number 2??
Which plug u guys use?
Thanks

Need more info ! What did The plug look like that failed.  Did you measure the plug cap resistance?  What are the numbers on the plug cap?

YOUR BIKE IS &*%@^*#  GORGEOUS!!!!  8)

if you have 5kOhm caps, you should run D8EA's or DENSO X24ES-U

check the caps on your ohm meter to verify they are near 5k ohms, if not, replace.
...and switch plugs.

It could be as simple as a float level or sticky float valve.   Check that carb. Those are resistor plugs so check that cap too

I measure the float levels..26mm all and floats are working free..so i have to check the caps resistance..but they are brand new in honda red package..i doubt if they are bad!!

Run it for awhile and see how a new plug does, maybe it was just a bad one or a dud from new. If the problem returns then start digging deeper.  Be best though to not use an "R" plug.
Did you by chance pull all the plugs and compare. Since 1 and 4 fire from one coil and 2 and 3 from another did the #3 plug look OK or different than the 1 and 4 plug ?
