I am no longer the owner of a Honda CB750A Hondamatic. Today I gave the bike to my brother. After tweaking, fixing, replacing, and finally riding the bike I came to this conclusion: I don't like riding an automatic. This is not to say that Honda's engineering is flawed, or that my bike was tuned and set to factory standards, (I'm sure it wasn't). I found the automatic to be too complicated (correction, less simple) to ride and maintain. After changing to rear sprocket to get decent highway speed and lower rpms, I found myself consistently down shifting to L and up shifting to D (this defeats the whole purpose of having an automatic). I also discovered that stopping on a small hill causes the idle settings for automatic to be invalid (stall city). And this is after spending a lot of time getting the idles set correctly on a flat surface. I don't pretend to be any kind of expert bike maintenance person. I simply want to do routine stuff and ride.

Good Luck & Good Riding!
