Boss calls me into his office yesterday, and says "next week, I'm f**ked!" Then throws a piece of paper to me.
What's was on the paper you ask??

Flight and hotel confirmation for me and my wife for 3 days in Vegas!
He got us a round trip flight and 3 days at the "Aria" in vegas next week.
Wow, was I ever shocked. (He's F'ed because he has to cover for me )

He and the owner planned it, so I go to thank the owner when he comes in, he demands that I see a "show" and gives me money to make sure I do! Then reminds me that prositution is legal in Nevada, but not in the city limits.

Since the wife and me have never taken a honeymoon yet, this is a nice get away.
Feels good to know that someone notices how hard you work and appreciates it!

Speaking as a boss it is nice to be able to show those that work hard for you that we appreciate it!

I just wish I could do more of that stuff....but Union shop + huge mega corp with mega restrictions on my company spending = not even allowed to buy my guys coffee!!

Bosses like that are rare these days, But I'd be willing to bet that you take really good care of him and the company. I had bosses like that in the past and I worked my tail off for them. Nuff said.

When you have someone that is truly good and a joy to be around.... Finding ways to say thank you that "really" matter to them is hard.... obviously this guy cares a lot about you and has enjoyed your skill ....

i wish my boss would do that.  he just takes all the credit for his employee's good work, so noone is ever noticed.  that and the owner cares more about the sister companies that the main one owns...  you already know this, but MAN are you ever lucky!!!

Alot of companies are in your position, my company has been there so many time that we just accept it as "the way it is". It has been getting better. I have seen orders increase, and more quotes. I hope that it picks up for you, or you find a better gig .
