Another bike I have never seen before but with the price I'd say they were definitely an aquired taste.

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Yep, the old Metralla's were the hot strokers before Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki dominated 2 stroke racing for years, I remember chasing one for the last hundred miles to the Bathurst TT in 1983, I was on my Honda CB750K1, and while it was a great bike, it couldn't get near the Bultaco in the tight twisty stuff, that little Spanish racer was quick, and the note from it's expansion chambers was awesome! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Yeah, it's actually probably a fair price Hushy, they are a pretty rare old beast. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yeah and who has the job of rushing back and sliding the jack stand under the rear section? ;D

I like the though and image of going for a ride with the whole fam....but, you know what it is like when the passenger moves around too much and it throws off your whole "riding my motorcycle" vibe? Imagine 4 dipwads in back of you all trying to look over your shoulder. For the time and effort that went into the build he should have made some sort of pivot point with a bubble way way in the back with a sign that said "Mother in Law". ;D

Yea, you would have to travel with a passenger all the time so you had some one to put the jack there when you want off the bike. I wonder how well it corners?  ;D

Your right Frankenstuff, that would have been not only funny but VERY practical! ;D

I like it. If we sat back and analysed how "constructive" working on old motorcycles actually is, we'd probably find that we're wasting our time when we could all be working towards world peace, ending world hunger, finding a cure for cancer, blah blah blah. Personally, I'd rather spend my time doing stuff I like to do, like the dude who built that quirky bike did.........;D

Well think of what we do for these motorcycles in terms of recycling then. Since we save these old bikes from the junk yards, dumps, scrap heaps etc, we are inevitably putting life back into something that would otherwise be destroyed. Because lets face it:

World Peace will never happen because humanity as a whole is too greedy

World Hunger will never change because humanity is too selfish

And we will never find a cure for cancer as long as people continue to tear down the rain forest, fight for oil, stay greedy and selfish..

So Hey... Atleast we recycle, right??..

Cafe Racing is mainly a matter of taste. It is an atavistic mentality, a peculiar mix of low style, high speed, pure dumbness, and overweening commitment to the Cafe Life and all its dangerous pleasures. I am a Cafe Racer myself, on some days - and it is one of my finest addictions. ~H. S. Thompson~

I'd love to take that thing on my route.  Just imagining the jaw drops as I pulled up with it at the bus stops!  'course, it would be kinda hard squeezing 70 teenagers on that thing.  Think he might make an extended version? :)  Now my elementary run has only 12-15 kids...  ;D

This is one I never saw sold in NZ, the Honda Benly certainly has a few differences to most, like who decided it didn't need a tacho? :)

George Barris might fight you on that one...but I've always thought his #$%* was ridiculous, so I can't fight you too hard on it.  Then again, anyone who "designs" a custom creation better be putting in the time shaping metal.  So, the school bus bike guy has at least one up on a famous "car designer."

1950 German-built Imme won "Most Unique" award at the 2009 Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show. Immes featured a single-sided telescopic fork and a single-sided swingarm that also routed the exhaust (!); its 99cc two-stroke engine moved with the rear suspension. Immes were built from 1948-1951.

Snapped a few pictures of this at a Walgreen's a year or so ago. Older fellow came out and kicked it to life and rode away.
