I saw this bike at Backfire last night :D

Last night was a great turn out, lots of cool bikes, the cops were kind of lame though.

I agree on both parts. Unfortunately I think with the cops, it may be the beginning of an end. But who knows, things will die down thru the the fall/winter and things will cool off.

The SMR meetup post for this ride was updated, but I'm thinking I would rather ride with the Cretin's group. Lot of vintage love there from what I hear. I'm definitely planning to be there on my black 78F.

Who do we have going for sure, and are we going to ride together or just hope we see each other?

Here's the update...

Let's meet at the Fauntleroy Lincoln Park turn out at 8:45am and hit the 9:15am ferry. Stands up and heading to the Ferry at 9am or earlier, if you are late head straight in and look for all the bikes on the Ferry dock. Don't wait behind cars, unless the Ferry crew makes you. Be sure to buy your ticket ahead of time (only need 1 way, no ticket to leave the island no what which direction you go), it'll save some hassle, trust me. :D

Last year we met at 10am and with the ferry running late (the first 3 ferries were filled only with bikes so they started to make us wait), we got there just before the poker run was about to end. If you want to head over early, meet Brooke at the Southworth Ferry or come in from Tacoma, it's all good. We'll all meet up on the Island for the post-poker run party or along the way.

I plan on coming over from Tacoma, thanks for the heads up michrobi.  I am leaving out of town the next morning for the week so I may not stay long but we will see.  I would love to hook up with some of you.  On the 8:25 or 9:15 ferry.

This is what I will be riding.

I was wondering how many more times the cops will let that event happen too. If people would drop their attitude towards the cops they'd lose interest and leave us alone. What ever happens I plan on going as often as I can until the evnt is gone.

As far as the Vashon trip goes I'll be on the 9:15 ferry too. There will be four of us in my group so we'll just see ya'll on the ferry or island.

Sounds like the 9:15 ferry is the one we'll all be on, just join us there. My group will be my cb400f, cb350k4 in gold, cl350 blue or black, they haven't decided yet, and a '80 kz1100 in black.

Now I just need to find a place to sleep the night before.

I'd offer my place but my wife is not very trusting of people and her privacy is very important. If we meet this year then I can offer our spare bedroom next year:)

Sounds good.  Where do you want to meet so we can catch the 8:25 ferry to Vashon.  I live in the North end of Tacoma pretty close to the ferry dock.

I don't know Tacoma very well, but a Starbucks could be good.
I'll be in the Pacific Avenue & 48th Street area.
Any suggestions?

Cheers

Starbucks Coffee: Westgate‎
2405 North Pearl Street
Tacoma, WA 98406-2575
(253) 752-5407

Pearl Street is the road that leads down to the ferry terminal at Point Defiance.  They ferry sails at 8:25, should we meet at Starbucks at 8am?  Then we can ride across the island to where the Seattle ferry drops off and meet up with the others.

Sounds good.  Where do you want to meet so we can catch the 8:25 ferry to Vashon.

9:15 ferry. The bikes gathering in the middle of the dock on the right hand side. This is just one of many ferries running all morning.  ;D

Great ride while it lasted, at least I got one help of a work out in pushing the bike. Lol
Damn charging system is still off.  Good seeing a lot of you and some great bikes.    I hope at least you had some beers for me at the end.   ;D
