so i'm pretty proud of myself and i'd like to brag a little bit.  i had an old cigar box laying around and i didn't like my watches sitting together in a wooden bowl, so i wanted a visible watch case.  this cost me a total of $7 in materials from Hobby Lobby!  green felt, some basswood and a piece of acrylic on top.  i only have 8 watches and don't plan on getting anymore anytime soon, so this is perfect!!  lemme know what y'all think!!   ;D

i have two fossil watches that are off at the repair facility getting new crystals and bands and such.  other than that, those are the 8 watches i wear.  i might switch over to a real piece of glass, but the thing holding me back from that is that it would stick up too far on top and not really be "inlaid" into it, unless i had a custom piece made, but i don't think it would be worth it on an old cigar box.  they're not exactly the most expensive pieces out there...  thanks for the comps though guys!

Yeah man, I just clicked out of the new political bull#$%* section, won't see me there again.

What we all need is to take stock of our own options, resources and abilities just the way you did when undertaking your project here.

You should indeed be proud, you took the initiative to impliment hard work and creativity in solving a personal need.

More of us need to do just that in my opinion, and not just here in the states either.

A

rant over.

Sweet!.... I love watches, but cant stand to wear them. I hate wearing anything though. carring keys, wallet, leatherman, gun, hat, cellphone, change, sunglasses......where does it stop. I went to the local amusement park the other day and all i had was cash in my pocket. So nice not to be weighted down.

NICE WORK, Feels great when you create something nice with your hands.

I'm kind of digging how working with your hands is a way of life for most of us...

I Love all kind of projects this is a classic example.... wonder what other projects folks have around here?

i don't think they're nice enough for ebay, and i'd have to find a source for good condition cigar boxes for cheap
