strynboens 400 f 1975..

i sav a 400f for first time in 79,,and alvays vanted that littel nice honda,,this vinter faund i at last one,
rusty and only driving at 3 cylenders,,brakes vas hanging..exhost vith hools in 4to one konnektion..
but the bike vas almost komplet and a 75 years modell..it have 95,000 km..but no noises in engine

but its vas vorse than it looks..and it have been my biggest thalance ever to make this old lady driving again..
i have rebyild exhosts,,,frame,,,seat,,brakes,,elektric,,,hveels,,back light and fenders,,,to keep kosts lov,,,i have veldet everything insted to bay nevs parts,,have alså a 550 procjeht going at same time..så have dropped crome on fenders,,and veldet the holes ,,and paint fenders mettalic silver

She looks to be in pretty decent shape other than the issues you mentioned. What are you planning for her? Cafe'? Full restore? Either way the 400's are great, I'm in the market for one too (or any of the smaller CB's really, I'd love a 550)  ;D.

hey,,have made a cafe seat,,but,,thance almost nothing..vant to have thance to make it back to stock..vhen money and time affords it..first priorty is to get a nice and vell funktion bike,,for less money..

seat historie,,i dont like thar shape on seat,,have alvais liked kawasaki seats from late 70"..that inspiret to this duck tail seat

after seat,,i get on vith exhost..muffler vas rs steel,,så no trobbel vith that,,but the rest vas almost rodden avay

i made exh systen in 3 pises,,vith lose pipes.kollektor ..and muffler..have to paint it black..hope to get it cromed later

next thing vas spedometer ,,and rotation caunter..split them and klean,,and painted
faund a light panel,,in german e bay..the old vas broken

glad you like it ;) ;)..even,, it is a lov bugjet build...

have paintet frame,,have veldet some holes,,hver type plate vas plased,,,,vether in denmark are damet hell for old bikes..
salty vater bloves ind from sea..and ve have rain hole summer...its eat this old bikes up..its almost imposible to find a nice rust free bike,,vith under 50,000 km..

after paint i tryed to drill holes to thance oil in rear dampers ???hvat kalls they  ,,have an idea of filling some atf oil in..
and try to see if it vork...nov they only are hard one vay,,think they shud damping both vays,,in and aut..
if they not are orginal ,,its vast of time..but hope they are orginal

Yeah....dampoair eats these bikes alive....rust everywhere....aluminum just corrodes with that film of white powder. :(

have klean back hub/ vheel..that bolts/rubber,thinga are littel sluppy,,hole are 12,5 and bolt are 12,0..think i made some nev vho messing 12,4..
have polish valve kover..engine looks fantastic inside,,just need to tjek tensi
on bolt for cam chain..before klean and get it together again

alså painted kaps for rear shoks,,think to paint them in tank kollor,,and springs black..they are to rusty to polisk

Did you clean up your rear hub without removing the spokes??

I'm going to start cleaning mine this weekend but don't really want to break the wheel down... any tips or tricks??

hey jyst use a fine steel hair rotating,brush.. on a drilling mashine,,,later i vill by nev sprokes,,and polish hub..
polishing alu parts ,,i use a theap set.vith 250mm polish veel and 1 kg polish vax,,for alu.. all kosts 300 kroner //ca 50 us $..its inof for more years polish,,
i have build a vheel adjusting adapter..but have not time to make the veels perfekt..it must vait to some vinter
have made some hveel for my yamaha fs1..
vith that vood tap you can adjust side and hight,,at same time,,vitaut to skratsh painting

have kleaned kaburatores..use batteri accit mixed vith hand cleaner to get it to stick on..other vay it ran of to fast
after kleaning it  first vith soap then fuel,,finaly get some wd-40 to neutral accit,,alså get some old painting of..hell of a work

some pic are vith 550 carp,,made them at same time
