I need me some pants for hot weather.
« on: June 13, 2010, 11:58:38 AM »
There's like a bazillion choices for hot weather riding pants.
I've wasted way too many hours on the interweb trying to find some.

What do you all like?

There will mainly be used for freeway riding to/from work.
Good ventilation is a must - it can be 100+ on the ride home.

Grump, I to am looking. I've sort of narrowed it down the Alpinestars Air A-10, or the Dianese Air Drakes.

I'll check those 2 out.

I looked the Frank Thomas mesh pants today. The fit was great & there was plenty of ventilation but there was zero armor so I won't be getting those...

I have a pair of FirstGear Mesh-Tex pants. They're well made and fit well. I can get year round use out of them buy wearing long underwear under them in the spring/fall and adding Gortex pants over that for the winter. They also come in a wear over pants version.

I really like the Olympia pants I have. They are mesh with armor for the warmer days. Then I can snap in some insulated inner pants that are also waterproof. Olympia can be a bit spendy though but I really needed some with the waterproof liner and that were easily adjustable for shorter legs without going to a seamstress over it. For me, these were ultimately the best package for how I ride. Rain/cold/heat/whatever doesn't keep me off the bike at all.

That being said, the Fieldsheer Titanium Air-3 pants have gotten really good ratings. They are on a massive sale right now too, here.... http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/hot+deals/special+promotions/fieldsheer_titanium+air-3+pants+with+insulated+liner#

They are now only $80 and come with a warmer inner liner that can be put in for the cooler days. They seem to get really good reviews everywhere. The one common theme is that they run a size large. So, if you wear a 40, buy a 38 in these. People wear them as over pants or by themselves over shorts. They swear by them in 80 and above temps. I'm not sure if you can see through them or not, to wear as pants with nothing under.  :)
1969 CL350 Scrambler... almost done!!! Well, until something else goes wrong. :)
2006 HD 883 Sportster, stock. No use changing it, it's still gonna be a Harley.

Off topic a bit but it would be funny to see someone in these and they were see through! Or mortifying if you were the one wearing them and did not know! :D

These should be good enough for hot days!

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I knew someone had to post hotpants.

Sorry, I ain't wearing those. I live too close to San Francisco - it would cause unwanted attention. :)

What is sad though is, this is what she looks like now.
