Don' t think he'll be to happy with the GPZ Sam.
We ran one in a dirt track chair when they first came out.
Had to rev the tits of it to make any power, wouldn't pull the skin off a custard under 4'500rpm.
Not good for a hill climber.

Cheers,
Brian
I was never a fan of those GPZ/Ninja 900 engines

Definitely not got anywhere the same torque or power of my ZZR 1100 lump, but it keeps me racing till I get the 'box' sorted,

G'day Scunny
Sam might be right, it must have been a bigger night than I though last night.
I thought you where in Tassi?
But yep your right, frosty cold beer and only two minutes to the Murrumbidgee River, where the Murray Cod just jump into your boat.

Cheers,

Hi Brian,
Trouble with box in that video, was all down to me...............'forgetting which way's up and which way's down'.
Not my out-fit, that was the GSXR1100 I had the use of for the weekend, off the lad who lent me the 900 motor........top bloke!

No way can you be a woos mate, circuits pose their own drama's, being in traffic for starters and getting caught up in other peoples crashes!
Least on the climbs it's just us against the clock. However, most events are on single track roads with no or very little run off! Loton Park is purpose built and relatively spacious and safe to some of the places we race.

Do you have anything similar out there, tarmac that is not off road climbs?

Can't post the link, but have got some good video footage on the National Hill Climb Association, on my out-fit, shot in the Brecon Beacon's last year. Look on www.nhca.co.uk and go to event pictures 2009, then click on Eppynt. You should see video by Lee and Kim.

What out-fit do you run? Guessing it's a classic...............

Cheers
Lee

The Historic Motorcycle Racing Association of Victoria run a hill climb at a place called Mount Tarrangowa once a year, Ive just never plucked up enough courage to give it a try.
We run a post classic sidecar using a Honda CB750 motor in an English Windel chassis, all pre.1972.(sort of) ;)
Checked the Dalby Forrest video. Still frightens the poo out'a me. Must have been frightend by a bloody big tree as an infant.
Look after Sammy I think he may be like me. Past his use by date and refuses to admit it.

Cheers,
Brian

Off to a place called Harewood House with Chaddy in 30mins.
It's a large country house estate near Leeds in Yorkshire.
No heroics from  me today as I'm just a helper, Lee has one of his regular stand in passengers in Mick from Leyland in Lancs.
I hope the program of events don't mention where Chaddy is from as our home town of Warrington beat Leeds at Wembly in the Rugby League Chalenge Cup final yesterday. ;D ;D ;D
should be a few sad Leeds faces about. :D
I'll post up a report tonight for the odd charioteers on here.

Odd?
What do you mean odd?
I'm not odd!
Bent, twisted and a little bit strange maybe.
But not odd.

:D :D :D :D :D you know what I meant. Lee finnished 6th/8 in a very strong field, not bad as he had never seen the track before. It was a lot of corners and his passenger Mick said he had very little time to think what was coming next. They only got 4 runs in due to a lot of stopages. The first run was on a very wet track but it soon dried in the sunshine and gale force wind that was blowing over the area, hard to stand up at times.

Thanks for the report Sammy.
Bloody good effort as far as I'm concerned.
I for one wouldn't want to wrestle a chair up there with that GPZ driving the show.

Sunday morning sees me back in the chair for a final ride of the season.
Lee will be driving the GPZ900 engined outfit up the extremely difficult Hoghton Tower 8th mile.
Will post report tomorrow night unless Lee takes his laptop to do it from track side.
Here's a few videos of a few of my mates tackling the treacherous hill.

Well never a bull $hit artist, I have t tell you, we finished DEAD LAST :(
The old 900GPZ motor was no match for the winning up to date Gixer1000 outfit with us giving away 70bhp.
We managed to get within 79 hundredths of a second of the winner on our final run to finish on the rostrum in second place and still DEAD LAST ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D there were no other runners in the class ::)
It was a fun day out and Benly Ben got plenty of quality video but his computer is out of action so you'll have to wait for it, sorry :(

Bloody good effort Sammy.
You've done well, that's only a bike length.
That GPZ would have lost you four lengths off the start.
They wouldn't pull the skin off a custard.
Give Chadders my best.
