Going to look at a Honda for sale
« on: June 08, 2010, 08:49:06 PM »
A mechanic that works with my buddy has a bike for sale, it is a 1975, 750 honda four I went to talk to him, oh no wait, I guess it's a 550. then it was a 450, then it was a 500, now it is a twin. Now I gotta go just to see what the heck it really is. He cleaned the carbs so you would think he would know how many there were. Maybe it's a 500 single with the two exhaust pipes. Any bets? He now thinks it's really rare so the price is probably fluctuating upward.

(750 + 550 + 450 + 500) / 4 = 562.5

I'm betting it's a kawasaki kz400.

It's actually this:

Sat in his basement for 15 years, ran when stored, just needs the carbs cleaned out.

OK, it's a Brown 75 CB500T with 19,000 miles. It has all the usual problems from sitting forever, he said it runs but won't idle has a new rectifier. the tank looks OK and the inside appears clean with no rust at least in the top area. It will need tires, batt, front brakes rebuilt but its all there. The stock exhaust looks good too. he wants $500 for it and says he has a good title. I just got to spend $1300 on my pickup so I'm out for now, anybody interested? His wife says bike = quit drinking and he chose beer.
