Hey Mick - was in Melb last week and Peter Stevens had a white one in there - had a bit of a look, better in the flesh than the pics. I liked it, but I'm not going nuts over them.

G'day Pete
I'd like to have a look at one.
The missus gave me half a smile when I mentioned it so that's a good start.  :D

;D Got much the same reaction here! Or was it a grimance..... ::)
They still had the CB13 with 4000k on it that I looked at on their website a couple of months ago (didn't specifically go there to see it, but I walked in and there it was!), reckon I could strike a good deal if I tried.............. :-\

The 1100 is very retro (which I like) but I walked away thinking "bit boring" - but I'm sure they would be a good thing on the road. Would like to see a red one in the flesh too.
I actually quite liked the look of the new VFR1200 they had in there.

glad y'all are getting it. The price looks kind of steep, wonder what the exchange rate is right now?

I went to visit Honda USA today and got an ABS/CB1100 marketing survey. It popped up when I clicked on the VFR. Its clear they are thinking about bringing it here too:

http://powersports.honda.com/street/sport.aspx

If you do the survey you can pick the "right" price.

Did it too. Told em if they wanted to get the American market back they needed more that Harley clones and look alike crotch rockets. Even in this recession the US still has people with money.

Just took the survey, told them $8500 and to get a clue about what the American motorcycle market could become, think 1971... and make Soichiro proud.

I think that is the price point. I have looked at new Shadows that run about there.

I've spoken with the dealers in Adelaide and they said at this stage, there will only be limited numbers released here in Aust.
He is going to make some enquiries and let me know what is happening and I'll keep you all posted.
The recomended retail price is $15000:00 AUD plus on road costs (ORC)
That equates to close on $13000:00 USD working on the current conversion rate.

It seems as though Honda is being very cautious just as they were when the 750 SOHC was first released.
Hopefully history will repeat itself.

Went to a dealer in Adelaide (not CBD) yesterday and he took me out back and showed me a red one still in its crate - liked it a lot more than the white one. They are going to be in short supply - he has 6 "orders" for the one he has - first in with deposit will get it. Thinking........................ :-\

I bought one today from Adelaide.
They are certainly in short supply and no one can say for sure if and when anymore are being released.
It's early days but time will tell.
Hopefully it will be here in Darwin in a couple of weeks.

I took the survey too and told them to add a 550 or 650 size as well. Women and most men would flock to something that size for smaller, more agile, lighter, hug a corner kinda riding.

Well done mate. Did you get it from Honda World or Bill's? If it was HW, that's the one I saw still in its crate. I've touched it :-* ;D

Look save youself the trip mate, I'm only 80k from the shop, quite happy to run it in for you, I could do that on the roads around here, then because I am a top bloke I'll even ride it up to Darwin for you - could be there inside of the 2 weeks you're saying now.
AND I WON'T CHARGE ANYTHING MATE. what a guy.  ;D

Did I say you are a b*stard.

Hey Dave
That would be a good ride across the Barkley Highway through Mt Isa up to Darwin.
3500 Kms would get the motor loosened up for sure.

I'll keep an eye out for your fingerprint mate.  ;D
It's coming from Honda World.
I spoke with the guys here in Darwin and also Peter Stevens Honda in Adelaide but got nowhere fast.
When Honda World said that they had one, I told him to go and write "MICK" on it in capital letters.
I've just emptied the bank account right out and couldn't be happier.  :D
