(all right, you can stop sing now) with a bag of parts. The guy at the counter says, "That looks like a petcock off a Honda .... 750." "Close, a 550." I point the the washer thingy with the holes in it and say, "I need to make a new one of those." They guy takes it and hustles off to the back somewhere. Banging is heard. He comes back, graps a tool off the rack and hustles off again. More banging. He comes back with 2 replacement thingies that he just made. "I don't know if they'll work" something about the punch "no charge, we'll just call it experimental."
No kidding, I went in to get material to make the gasket thing in my dead petcock and the guy made me 2 replacement ones while I waited and didn't charge me anything. I'm still working on the petcock (riveted) and I think it would have worked, but I think I stripped the threads I tapped into the body on one side, so I've drilled out deeper holes and have threaded them too. Haven't had a chance to try it yet, will let you know.
I'm pretty sure the guy at the shop is a biker.
