Master Cylinder - Do I Need This?
« on: June 14, 2010, 11:34:32 AM »
Under the master cylinder cap there is a plastic washer of sorts the same size as the cap. Must be to hold the master rubber in place when tightening it. Is this a necessary piece? The reason I ask is my KO & K4 came without it. The K1 had it in place. Needed or not needed??? Thanks

I have it on my 77 and it IS needed to keep the rubber from deforming when you tighten the cap. Without this, it will leak.

I wonder why the PO took them off? It is not like they fall out. The K1 I actually had to screw it past the threads. Guess it is order time...

I had to get a new one when the original cracked. Even with a crack it leaked.
