Road America Report?
« on: June 14, 2010, 12:58:56 PM »
How'd it go out there folks? AHRMA hasn't put up the results yet (soon, I'm sure - they're good like that), so I'm dying to know how folks did.
Take care,
David

Hei Doc

Speaking from memory, i think that the only sohc4 member currently doing AHRMA nationals is Big bob..... or am i missing someone?

would be great to hear about others for sure, it's hard to understand from the results page who's riding what in AHRMA

Ya Big Bob was there. Did great, considering that his "full bodied" flying posture position can only be tucked in so far on those super long RA straightaways!

Results are up at http://ahrma.org

Thanks for the update.  Glad to hear everyone had a great time.

Looks like Tim Joyce is going to run away with F750 again this year.  Kenny's getting closer, at 9 seconds and 1.1mph off the pace in a 6 lap race. But, wow, those results sure fall off a cliff after the top 4.

Anyone know the 2nd place finisher, John Ellis? I think he's on a big-bore XS650.  Very fast bike, but I can't find details anywhere. And Jeffrey Peters, his entry lists 1972 Rickman, but a Rickman what?
Take care,
David

Jeff was riding their full faired Rickman CR 750.  Pretty bad ass.

John Grether got 1st both days in Production Lightweight on his CB 350/4.

My buddy Dan got 5th and 4th in the same class on his CB 400.  Not bad for his first time out.

Me?  I did pretty good considering I've got a few inches and 100+ pounds on everyone in my class.  And they've all got more displacement, cams, or both than I do.

Tim Joyce went by me so fast on Saturday that I only heard one exhaust stroke.  Didn't even sound like a motorcycle.  *BANG* and he was gone.

I'll post pics when I get some, friend of mine got a great shot of me with my knee on the ground in the chicane.  Mark, good seeing you.

XS 650 with a 750 kit.  Freakin' fast.  He was right on Tim's heels when they went by me on Sunday.  Best seat in the house.

John Ellis has been developing that XS since we raced him back in 1997!  Made his own frame, rides it very well but there is not enough valve area and RPM available to run with multi cylinders... done right. Tim Joyce is fast as hell of the twin 750 Triumph with Honda front forks...no less, but a proper CR750 with 92 RWHP would leave him for dead on that long track!

Been there....Won that!
