Hello from Richmond, VA
« on: November 11, 2009, 07:10:30 AM »
I should have done this sooner but I would like to thank all of the members here for helping me through a ton of problems over the last year.

My father in law gave me his CB750K5 last November.  In attempting to get it running, I purchased a '77CB750K for parts (at that point I did not know all the differences between the years).  While using this forum as a guide, I was able to get the '75 running perfectly.

I am now working on putting the '77 back together.  I had to weld up a hole in the lower case back from where the chain snapped and am currently rebuilding that engine.

Over the past year I have acquired an assortment of new tools and a lot of knowledge about these two bikes.

I can't wait for the day when my wife and are are both riding these two classic bikes (hopefully this spring).

Hey everyone, I just added a new 750 to the fleet.  I picked up a '74 last week (I wonder how long it will take for me to get the complete set?)

I got the bike running great and am getting the plates and insurance in order for it today.

I do have a question about these bike's side covers though.  If you look at the picture of the bike on the trailer, you can see that the right side cover look like it will take the earlier emblems.  Looking at all the parts diagrams I can find, I believe they are supposed to have the boxier looking 750 emblem on them.  This bike is clean enough that I really want to get it back to original.

Does anyone have any pictures of the "correct" side emblems for the '74?

Thanks in advance. (sorry for the messy shed pictures)

Welcome. One of my sisters lives in Richmond, I believe they call the area "the fan?" Can't help with the emblem question, but I'm sure you'll get one soon.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
