front sprocket on my 78 750A
« on: October 11, 2019, 03:33:30 PM »
The front sprocket on my 78 cb750A  which is 15t  630 pitch, is no longer available with the two 6mm threaded holes for the locking plate. The one that is available has no threaded holes and is kept on with a circlip. Does anybody know were i can get the circlip.

What keeps the sprocket from sliding in against the motor ?

I would think that whoever  is selling the sprocket would also have the clip. I see you are in the UK, perhaps David Silver Spares (DSS).

Thanks for the reply. The shaft splines stop just before the shaft oil seal, so the sprocket is kept from touching the inside of the engine. I was up until the early hours searching ebay and then i found what i needed. Just need to measure the place on the shaft were the clip goes so i can order the correct clip.

Have just ordered the sprocket from parts unlimited. I had asked DSS last week, and they said it's no longer available, also searched the CMS web site they said the same. Thanks again, will let you know how i get on.

Got the sprocket today, all the way from the USA, so quick. It's now on the bike. Thanks again.
