This should work for my bike right?
« on: May 04, 2010, 09:37:20 AM »
I have a '76 550, trying to rebuild the old m/c was a fail and I'm just goin modern with it. This looks like it should totally work, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FRONT-BRAKE-MASTER-CYLINDER-KZ200-KZ550-KZ650-KZ700-/140404829688?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b0c7adf8

What do you guys think? This is my last major thing to do before I can finally get it on the road.

I think it will all depend on what bars you are running and if the size of the unit physically fits and clears everything...With my drag bars, I plan on running the MC with the little remote plastic reservoir like more modern sport bikes...looks kinda ugly but will fit way easier

i run that same m/c on my 750 and i know a lot of other guys do too,
takes up less room than the stock m/c and works great, go for it
Funny thing about regret is...... its better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done.

for the record on I bought this master cylinder in black for my cb550 about 9 months ago and my plastic viewing window was cracked and brittle enough for my to push my thumb through and disintegrate it.  I'm going to try to find a correctly sized used OEM M/C from a more modern bike instead of an ebay part this time around.

This looks like it should totally work.
It will work, totally.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.
