Take a look around in the Project Shop forum.

Be sure to check your local laws (if you care to) as some areas are no longer friendly to side mount licence plates or tail lights or vertical plate mounting.

I just got this one in the mail yesterday:

http://www.flyncycle.com/Universal_Motorcycle_Tail_Lights_p/rltlucc.htm

I'll be (hopefully) swapping it for the giant stock tail light on my 550 tomorrow.  I'll post pics if/when it's done.  Not a "relocation" of the light, but definitely sleeker than the stock set-up.

Before you go too far you might want to check with the local DMV about whether there are laws that require your plate to be horizontally mounted. Some place no big deal but in others it is.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Here's my ride with the Lukas style tail light.  Not a very good pic, but you get the idea.  Sorta stock, sorta cafe.

Thanks for that pic.  Where did you mount that in relation to the stock tail light mounting holes?

I drilled the two lowest holes approximately 3" up from where the original holes are.  You can see in the pic the hole where the license plate bumper was, maybe that will help give a reference.

Big B, what did you decide to do about your light/license plate setup?
