New Toy 75 CB750F
« on: June 17, 2010, 06:11:33 AM »

So I picked this up yesterday for $500. It starts and runs well but idles a bit high. Also the throttle is a little sticky. Kerker pipe isn't perfect but sounds mean. The paint is in nice shape, though I don't care for the color, and the chrome seems pretty good. It has been left outside for awhile, so there is a little surface rust, but doesn't seem too bad.

Once I get it home I'll change the oil, check the tires, then see how she moves...

Cheers

Taylor

Seems to be a lot of Fs popping up lately.  That sounds like a good price for a runner, especially there in New York.  Good to have you on the board.

A few other things I noticed it needs... the front brake is limp, headlight isn't working but the turn signals do. The brake light only lights up when the foot brake is applied. I think the chain is on it's last leg...I'm hoping there are no other surprises, but I'm sure there will be...there always are!

I really don't like the color though, and I have NO experience with paint of any kind... So I guess I'll start looking into options that won't cost me too much.

The painted cylinders tell me the engine has been removed. Extra goodies inside perhaps?!

Nice find.  Looks like a bit of the front fender has been cut off.  You could try just flushing some new fluid through the MC but unless you know the history it may be time for a caliper and MC rebuild.
