CHICAGO MODS VS ROCKERS
« on: June 18, 2010, 10:32:53 AM »
it starts today , but i won't be going till tomorrow.. any northern locals that are going should post up , and we could all meet up along the way ... i had a bunch of guys that were going with me , but all but one have backed out for one reason or another .... so it looks like i'm riding in alone (booo!!)

i'm trying to plan a nice scenic route so i don't have to hit I-94 (there is a Cubs vs Sox "cross town classic" and the traffic will be nuts )    .. but if i'm going alone ... i may just take the highway cuz it's easier

i will post pics in this thread after tomorrow ...hope to see/meet as many of you sinners there as possible

when this was given to me , my first thought was . ".....i coulda made a way better trophy than this"   followed by "how the hell am i gonna get this home"   ;D ;D ;D

and what i thought was an interesting little bit of irony ...i had this thing tied to my belt on the way home .... my trophy scratched the hell outta the paint on the frame  ::)

That's the second most badass sidecar I've ever seen.  The best was this guy in Austin who repurposed his sidecar with a wheelchair ramp for his paralyzed friend.

Still, fine work.

I so wish I was able to go.. Looks like a blast and I would have loved riding there with you.. That way no one would notice my bike, cause they would be looking over yours! Glad you won!!! Well done..

Your going in a car, or your meeting people there that are in cars? I want to go but we are upgrading switches that weekend so I will be working 9 to 7pm both days.. Abbott got an influx of funds so everything is being upgraded this summer, servers, SAN's, switches etc.. and we all get to have fun spending our weekends doing it. I only did not work today because its Fathers day.. I don't from the 3rd of July to 10th, but only cause I took some vacation time, other wise I work almost every weekend until labor day.

So I did take the wife on a cruse (First time in 8 years, first time on this bike at all) and she loved it. I did notice that 0-70 was a bit more of a struggle for the bike, but it did great non the less. My wife however did not like her hair after the ride, so I said no problem we get you a helmet.. She said, helmet hair? I don't think so. Oh well guess I ride alone most of the time.. her loss..!  ;D

I am trying man.. I really am.. I put in for that day off.. We will see if I get it or not next week some time. This only happens once every 5 years, so I really can't complain.. But when you have 8,000 servers (Windows/Unix/Linux) upgrades are quite the chore..

Looking forward to the drink! I am a Miller guy..

That dude with the black Nova was hitting everyone up to go to Rockerbox, must've been an organizer.  Personally, I don't need much of an excuse to go anywhere with cheaper beer and better, dirtier bars.  Might try and make it up there with the gf.

Will you guys be doing the neat 2 by 2 formation thing like you were on Diversy?  It sure looked pretty.
