If you are taking off the head, do yourself a favor and go a step further and pull the jugs as well and replace the base gasket. All too often when taking off the head, the base gasket will unseal and then will never seal correctly again when you torque everything back down causing a slow weep of oil at the base of the jugs. Also, while you have the jugs off, you can check them out and make sure that everything is in speck with no wear or anything, hone the cylinders just to glaze bust them, and then you're good to go.
