New tail light problems('76 CB550K)
« on: February 13, 2006, 08:54:18 PM »
Hello there,
I am having some problems with a new tail light I installed on my 76 CB550k.
I believe I have installed the 3 wires correctly(dark green=power,green/yellow=switch,brown=ground)
when i turn the ignition on the head light/tail light both come on,but when i apply the brake it blows the fuse(7A).

Is it possible that the new light is drawing more power?
Should i put a bigger fuse in the box?
I am at a loss for a soloution......

any help would be great.

                             Thanks

you've got your colors wrong.

Green is ground or battery minus.
G/Y is the stop lamp from front or rear brake switch
Brown is from the fuse. (run light)

Has your bike been rewired?  Usually, all you have to do is match colored connections.
