so i found the reason why my cable wont fit. i had fliped the main bracket to fit my reg/rec unit on it so it could clear the battery box. that made the soleoid to low. so i have fliped it back but now i have a issue of where to mount the reg/rec. if anyone has a adivise on a good place to put it or any pics of theres with a aftermarket unit on there bike that would be great thanx ryan

Depends really.  On my 550, I put it out where it can get air.....keep it cool, and it will love you for it. ;)  If you have a leftover bracket mount it there, and then paint, polish or detail it so it looks good to the eye. ;)  I had a front side plate bracket still on the frame on the left/chain side.  I mounted by rec. there.  Then buffed it with steel wool.  Looks good to me!

Looks good to me too, but then your level of build quality is very high in general.  ;)
