Consider adjustable 'baffles'. Take a stainless washer with about the same OD as the pipes ID.
Rig up a way to turn them on a spindle, with a degree indicator. Use nuts to clamp them in place. This way, you can get some back pressure, tune the sound (those pipes will drive you nuts in about 4 blocks), and you will not have everyone hating you.

It is the front fender. I filled in all the holes with weld and grounded them back flush

Got the dyna coils on electronic timing to match

New front tire, rear on the way

made new kicker pedal. Used a bike pedal axle and made up the foot part. (Old bicycle is no longer ridable)

Also made up the washer baffels and got them intalled in the pipes

Can't even remember where I got the bungs. Check out Lowbrow Customs they got a good selection my friend just got a nice kit from them

Gotta say...... I love it.

Listen to the other guys about running some sort of baffle to get some back pressure. It really is needed.

Is it going to get painted ? I'd almost leave everything bare metal. Looks prett darn cool as it sits. Love that chain tensioner.

Wash baffles are in. Not painting anything. I'm lovin the rat style right now

I use washer baffles on another bike with straight pipes, it works great. Don't know how you did them, but a buddy tack welded a washer standing up on a bolt's head. It was easy to drill holes in the pipes a couple inches in from the tips, drop the washer/bolt combo through, and secure with a nut outside the pipe. It gives you total flexibility in turning the washer to dial it in until it runs right.

I have to agree about the tuning issue with those pipes so short, but honestly this bike turned out amazing looking. The taillight and wiring container is really cool. Great work!

That's one of my favorite bikes I've seen on here, and I'm partial to cafes! The back tire looks awesome, but I'm kinda liking the mixed front knobby w/ rear street tire - that almost makes it look more "rat" - like you just used whatever was hanging around in the shop. Either way- great job!

has anyone that has done this "washer baffle" thing taken pictures of the process? the description of it isnt enough for me to figure out whats going on and I would love to make some pipes from scratch and use washers as baffles....

Are you running a single petcock or dual petcocks?

If i remember correctly, the quad (4barrel) carbs love fuel. A single will cause you to starve a bit. Running dual you feed 2 on each side, instead of all 4 from 1.

I'm still new to it, but check and see if 2 of your pipes are running hotter than the other 2... Thats how mine was, I have a Sportster tank on my 550, Now set up with dual petcocks.

Btw, might be a dumb ?, but what did you use for your kick arm to put the pedal on? stock tapped or welded? or did you swap the entire arm?
