CB650 Seat Ideas
« on: October 22, 2010, 07:09:02 AM »
I want to "streamline" the seat without lowering the height of where I sit. I don't ride two up so the passenger part is for looks only. I will be using the stock seat pan. Pic's will be very helpful.

Not sure if this will help, but I have a saddle that fits the '80 or '81 frames I have.  It's been recovered, but is otherwise stock.  Without the stitching, it looks a lot more streamlined to me and strangely feels more comfortable.  If my plans for my project weren't going in a totally different direction, I'd keep it for myself.  As is, I am willing to part with it if you're interested.

(I have better pics on my home computer)

I've always been a sucker for the seat on this RD400. It isn't stock but something similar could be pulled off with the stock seat pan.

It is long enough for two people without having the added hump in the back. A moderately skilled seat maker could easily use the stock pan and foam to do this.

Yeah, that's more or less what I'm planning on for mine as well - I have a bare pan to base it off of.
