Engine failure... Lost compression in the right cylinder.
Time to rebuild top end.

Well after pulling the engine and taking the top end apart, turns out the right side oil ring ceased. The compression rings broke apart and it galded the cylinder. The engine was updated with new valve seals, orings, gaskets, piston rings and pistons. The cylinder was honed and the engine was assembled.

Well for the past week the engine is back in and running.
Still doing some fine tuning and last few updates.
Overall, I like the bike as its fast and nimble.
Vibration is definitely a factor on this bike.
Here is a picture charging up a new battery.

just came across your project and wanted to offer compliments on the nice work. 450's - cb or cl - were great bikes... i hope to get my hands on "the right one" in the near future. your bike looks great tucked in with the 750 and is that a 350 in the back?

Great Job Simpson,all your bikes are very nice. I just sold a 74 450 ,no where near that pretty.I noticed in a couple pics though that maybe the speedometer and tach are mounted in reverse. On mine whick was still fairly unmolested the tach is on the right and the sppedo on the left. Keep up the good work. Eric

Believe it or not, I think Honda actually made them like that...
See the attachment. Yeah I struggled with that at first too.
There is a counter reset on the Speedometer on the right side so it has to go there.
I've got a new speedo coming in the mail today.
An earlier model but the price was right so I could not resist.
Hopefully it fits or I just wasted 60 bucks on an NOS Speedo.

I don't usually plan on shinning them up too much,
just end up getting carried away from the original plan.
