Hello There!
« on: June 22, 2010, 10:12:43 PM »
Hello everyone,

Yet another new member here. I have wanted to build a cafe racer for years and I finally got the gumption to grab a 1975 cb750K off of ebay. I have stripped the bike to the frame and am doing a total restoration for the most part. I have already gained a vast amount of knowledge from the website and look forward to learning about these wonderful machines from you all.

Welcome aboard! Hopefully you were meticulous in grouping and labeling everything you took off the bike during the tear down. I thought I was, but you can always do a better job. It always sucks when you don't know where something belongs during the rebuild :)

Cheers

I was not as meticulous as I should have been Droc, I am pretty worried about it.

Been there, done that. A box of sandwich bags, a digital camera and a sharpie are the best tools for disassembly! Good luck.

Welcome aboard. If you can't figure out what a part is or where it goes, post a picture and someone will know.

Definitely good advice. Another thing that really helped me was going to www.servicehonda.com and printing off all of the parts lists and matching diagrams. Get it bound for a few bucks at Staples or Kinkos and you'll have a handy reference for figuring out what's what. It's also handy for ordering parts from your local Honda dealer, as that site lists the OEM part numbers, while I believe bikebandit.com and maybe others use their own SKUs.
