And yes to both Micks, if I was PM I promise to do a schit job and only turn up for work when it's too cold to ride my bikes, but there'll be no tax on booze, in fact it'll be reclassified as "Medicine" and put on the PBS.........;D

 ;D ;D  awesome.... 8)

On the Knuckle draggers Terry, seems both side share this affliction mate, have you read any of the commentary following these news stories online at all...?   Knuckle draggers everywhere...we are doomed..... :o  We should ban all the news and grade these political pr1cks on what they do, not on what the papers "teach" the knuckle draggers..... Remember when people used to think critically for themselves...?   sigh....

If Big Bill Shorten learnt how to smile he could be appropriately named Big Bill the Smiling Assassin.  ;D

The first time I ever heard of him was the Beaconfield Mine collapse.
Now he's all over the joint like pizza and beer chunder on the back seat of the car.  ;D
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

Ha ha, well I spend a lot of my working week driving around the 6 major Defence bases in Victoria Mick, and to stay awake I listen to ABC News Radio, which broadcasts all Parliamentary sittings live, so rather than listen to the media or my local union rep, (I am a union member, as strange as that might sound) I actually listen to the politicians first hand, and form my opinions from what I hear out of their own mouths.

I knew we were in trouble when the "Pink Batts" and "School Halls" fiasco's (amongst other failures) cost the government the previous coalition government's 90 billion dollar surplus, and managed to turn it into a 300 billion dollar debt. Listening to fools like Peter Garret and Wayne Swan trying to defend the indefensible was sickening. Listening to Gillard trying to explain why she had to knife Kevin in the back in 2010, or her "No Carbon Tax" lies, or Bill (the smiling assassin, thanks Darwin Mick) Shorten tearfully explain why he had to knife both Kevin and Juliar, was a truly uninspiring moment.

Bottom line is I don't have to form my opinions from anything but what I see and hear first hand Mick, I don't need the media to help me form my opinions, and it certainly doesn't take an einstein to realise that this government will only be remembered as the most incompetent since the Whitlam government, and I'm really surprised that it hasn't gone the same way. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I think you completely missed my point Terry, I was referring to the idiots that were commenting on the news reports from BOTH sides, knuckle draggers all round...I also watch and listen to parliament and its pathetic on both sides.. I have to say that the way those 2 policy examples you pointed too were instigated left something to the imagination but on the other hand, I know of plenty of local primary and secondary schools that benefited hands down from the school halls. You may not have been to many public and private schools mate but following my son around in his cricket career i have spent plenty of time at both, Mikes High school had no cricket pitch at all and no school hall, neither did his primary school, they both now do. The private schools that he regularly played at had, well one had 3 huge turf cricket fields with 12 full time staffed practice wickets a grand stand in the style of the old Adelaide cricket ground {half enclosed}with fully staffed catering hall, that school also had indoor and outdoor swimming pools, another has 12 fields in 2 different locations all on prime real estate. The imbalance between public and private school funding is pathetic and embarrassing at best, so even though there were failures, there were also lots of schools that did benefit from those policies. It really pisses me off that in our haste to run everything down, no one points out the good happening at the same time, and like it or not, there is a lot of good in what happened as well.  Also remember, Howard got his surplus from selling infrastructure and assets, not policy, doesn't take much thought to do that, same is happening in NSW at the moment as well as an erosion of workers rights {again} not to mention what redneck Newman is doing in QLD l, sell everything off to pay the bills and let farmers have open slather over national parks and protected bushland, not too mention all the bankrupt tunnels. On foreign debt, although the numbers look big are actually tiny  compared to anywhere else in the world, including comparing it to individual debt at home, if you break it down in to manageable numbers its a little over half the average household mortgage, not huge at all... Does that make us all incompetent..?
Our American friends are in a far worse situation... and funnily enough, this all originated from the right side of politics...

This fascination with surplus has become a political football and is plain rubbish, the way the world now does its trade these numbers will always go up and down, no system is that perfect......  Factor in what has been spent on natural disasters in the last 6 years as well , that number is astronomical...  I want to make it clear, I think both sides have no idea at the moment and are making politics very messy, we have a labor party that has lost its way and a Liberal party devoid of anything original and lack sadly in policy, they have done their best to turn Aussie politics into a side show, at least Howard had more decorum , both sides sh1t me too tears and that is the  big problem as far as i see things....

He's gotta do something Tim, now if he can only get rid of the 40,000 "Asylum Seekers" who have turned up since he softened the border protection laws in 2008, who will cost the 12 million Australian tax payers approx another 2.8 billion dollars per year for God knows how long, that could have been spent on school halls and cricket pitches, and other important stuff............ ;D

Ha ha, speaking of which, my Grandfather came out to Oz as a kid in 1912. His family (12 kids!) were stone masons and there was lots of work here for masons building chimneys, monuments, houses, all sorts of stone structures back then.

Anyway, they booked "Second Class" tickets to America on a new luxury liner, The Titanic. At the last minute, my uncle Godfrey came down with measles, and they couldn't travel, so they sold their tickets to another family and came out after Godfrey got better.

I bet that other family was pissed off............. ;D

It's alright Dave, your mum is probably like my dad, at 86 he thinks he's Napoleon and I have to tell him that there's no need to wear his undies on the outside of his pants, regardless of how clean he can keep them like that.............. ;D

I watched this historical movie about Ned Kelly, Australia's most famous "Bushranger" (outlaw) yesterday. I'd never seen it before, and for some reason I don't think it particularly accurate, but it was entertaining............ ;D

ned (australian movie) - very funny leprechaun bridge scene
