vacum leak?   Did you oil the foam?   mine dont like oiled filters.   I have emgos and a mostly open exhaust.   Runns good to 7k and thats as much as I push it.  We 360 owners should get together.  I know of 3 local and they are all blue.

"Mostly open" my ass! Don't ride behind him. Almost as bad as Gordon's 750 was  ;D BUT not as bad good as my Fat Boy  :)

I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Idles well, accelerates strong.  However, there is a tear in one of the intake rubbers(?) that is between the carbs and the engine.  I need to start shooing ebay for a new set and also the stock air boxes.  I think that might help clean up the higher RPM's.

Thanks BlindJoe.  I might get new ones with the gaskets for $80 (ouch) from bike bandit.com just so I know they are okay.  But I'll search a couple more days before I do.  Need to get stock air cleaner elements too, I think.

Am I on the right track thinking that a vacuum leak could be making her bog down at higher RPM's?

Went out for a 30 mile ride today and she seemed to run pretty strong through the entire range, not even stumbling at higher RPM's any more.  Maybe it just needed to be ridden to blow the dust off her.  Still have a bunch to do, of course, but she's moving.

Still to do...
True the wheels.
New tires.
New seat.
New tail light.
Too much to list.

Does this look like I'm running lean to anybody?  Or am I being paranoid?

Don't think I've ever seen plugs that clean  ;) If it were me I'd probably try the next size up and go for a slight brown/tan color. Stop when it goes from running it's best ever to the downhill side of best ever.

thanks jerry.  I'm currently running Uni foam filters, but  I'm waiting on a set of stock airboxes, that should richen it up a bit.  If it still looks too light I'll get larger jets.  Glad to hear someone else thinks it's too lean also (and I'm not being too paranoid).

so the stock air box's I was waiting for did not fit, they were actually for a 350.  So I'm still on the lookout for a set to fit my little guy.
So I just received a new carb rebuild kit and there is a piece that I dont recognize,  it's a little rubber piece, sort os a tube.  It is not a regular O ring.  I dont know where it is supposed to go.  Any ideas?  When I get back to my computer I can post a pic showing what I'm refering to, but I thought I would put it out there in the mean time.

There are at least two different airboxes for CB360 depending if its a 74 or 75~
The mountings on frame are slightly different.
 CJ used another different type.
 I have both types.
I don't have them handy to take pics though and can't get to storage facility at present (can't drive yet after surgery on hand)

I would be interested in the airbox unit for the 75 CB360 if you want to get rid of it.  Do you still have the filter element also?

So I just received the air box and filter elements from e-bay and got them installed yesterday.  What a difference.  Just getting rid of the Uni pods opened up the top end and she pulls strong through the entire range now.

Next in line...

1. Need to find a new cylinder head because one of the exhaust bolts was broke off by the PO.  He drilled a hole in the fin and ran a wire through it and the exhaust collar to tighten the collar as a "repair".  He tried to drill out the bolt and mucked up the hole where the stud goes.

2.  Find a way to secure the rear fender after I remove the loop and bob the fender, and mount the new tail light.

Anyway, nothing new to show so no pics this issue.

Hello Gordon.

I live in Colorado Springs and I have a heli coil kit only used once on my CB750 for a broken exhaust stud.  I'm in the middle of my CB77 rebuild right now and would like to get it running for next spring.  Sure we could trade a few tips along the way and I know I could help get that exhaust stud done properly.

Later, Chris.

I would love to go for a ride this weekend, however, I am wrapped up in the wonderful world of retail and I have to work almost every weekend.  With a week or two notice I can get off.
New issue...oil leak from the bottom of the left side case.  Oil oump gasket? Shift shaft seal?  I cant quite tell.  If it's an oil pump gasket, where to find one?  Bike bandet does not have them.

The shift shaft seal ended up being the culpret after all,  easy fix.  Now i just need to find the correct size inserts for my Motion Pro carb tune to fit this carb and I'll be able to sync the carbs, then I'm back in business.

Just received the seal from Bike Bandit.com.  Shoot-dang!  I ordered the wrong seal, guess I have another week to locate a vacuum fitting to tune the carbs.

Apparently it's impossible to find a vacuum seal adapter in the greater Colorado area to fit the CB360 6mm thread pitch.

Any ideas?
