Which points file?
« on: June 24, 2010, 07:32:34 AM »
I'm trying to get a points file... can I just get any file from harbor freight?

I know not to use a nail file b/c it will create dust... what about the diamond files on harbor freight? I'm about to make an order there and they're so cheap...

Cheers

I'd go the HF route.  The main thing is that you don't want debris left over.  I gotta believe their needle diamond files are good enough.

My knowledge of geography isn't real flash, but do you have a Northern Tool store anywhere nearby?
$2.50 will buy one of these.

If you go back to just http://www.northerntool.com there's a store locator for you.

I prefer the flexible ones myself, just make sure to really clean up after dressing the points though. Cardboard dipped in contact cleaner or acetone works well.
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators.
We haven't met yet.

Unfortunately there are no Northern Tool's in NYC.

Thanks for the tip with the acetone though...
