Topic: Have I got the wrong Handlebars here??

I been struggling to close both the left and right hand switch assemblies onto the handlebars and neither wants to close up tight (i.e. there's a 2-3 mm space between the 2 halves). Furthermore the dowel holes on the handlebar don't seem to line up; the left hand one leaves the assembly and clutch lever much further forward than the right hand one. Also the
length of the handlebars leaves about 2inches of empty space in the grips.
The outside diameter of the steel handlebar tube is 22.4mm. Is this correct?

You've pretty much answered your own question, there.  If nothing is lining up where it should be and you have big gaps, then they must be the wrong bars. Stock bar size is 7/8", so they seem to be the correct size, but have holes drilled for a different bike.
