Ratz!!!
« on: October 21, 2011, 05:16:33 PM »
While refurbishing my Comstar wheels from a 1977 CB750F. I discovered a nasty gouge on the front rim. Are there any other rims that fit the 1977 F other than the Comstars? I'll have to come up with some replacement rims front and rear or do some fancy cosmetic surgery with JB weld and pin striping to hide the issue in the front. The front rim has dual disk brakes that I'd prefer to keep. I'm open to suggestions for the sharp mind out here on the forum.

Thanks

If the gash is not going to interfere with the seal between the tire and the rim, you can probably fix it. A few years ago I did a google search and found some pretty good articles with pics on fixing fancy rims on cars. Should be the same for bikes. As I recall it was not difficult or use exotic materials. They used something different than JB Weld.

 Comstar wheels;
 The cheapest, easiest to get mag wheels, in the history of motorcycles..

 They were also supplied by Morris, Lester, and probably a few others, but a lot more bux than the wheel you have..
