why not just hook a cart to the back fender and ride right into the walmart? that way you wouldn't have to worry about parking.

now I want to do a video of that....   :D :D  could you imagine the arrest report?
everything I say is pure speculation and
I have no idea what I'm talking about  ._.

I was wondering though, when there is angle parking, there is usually wedges left over at the end of the block that are bike size. Do you use them, and is that allowed where you live?

I use that space sometimes, but not too often.  If I have to park on the street or in a parking lot, I prefer to use a standard space so that if somebody does hit my bike they can't say "well you shouldn't have been parked there in the first place".

I park up against the building, or in the bike rack at some places.

I park up against the building, or in the bike rack at some places.

That's how I park at work during the Summer.  North side of the building under an overhang so it's not sitting in the sun all day.  Right next to the bike rack but not in it.  It cuts about 5 minutes off my commute when I don't have to park on the 4th basement level of the garage and walk the block to my building.  It's really nice having that garage in the Winter, though.  The bike is always warm and dry when I'm ready to go home.

I always wonder if it's legal to park up by the front wall of a business.
probably one of those things where it's fine, but it's just one a-holes complaint away from a ticket.

Probably depends on your city ordinances, but I think as long as it's on private property and not on a regular sidewalk next to a public street then it's up to the building owner/tennant.

I made that mistake a few years ago when going to a roller derby bout at the coliseum.  A couple of friends and I parked next to the building on a very wide, very out of the way section of the sidewalk.  I wasn't thinking about the fact that the coliseum is city owned, and we came back to parking tickets.  The parking lot was free, so it's not like we were trying to get out of paying.  They were just being #$%*s.

That #$%*! >:( ;D

I fully accept that I was in the wrong, though.  It was stupid to give tickets in that situation, but we knew the law.  Sort of like getting a ticket for doing 70 in a 65 on a long, straight, deserted stretch of country highway in the middle of the day in perfect weather.  It's a revenue issue.

I like to park where I know I'll be able to roll straight out, like a space with an empty space in front of it.

usually a riding buddy will take the space in front of me and it makes it easy for both of us to leave.
