My son picked up a job at a super market while he was at University, anyway, it isn't a "Big Brand" place, but rather, a little family owned place, and so there are no rules, no OH&S, it's pretty slack. Some woman parked in front of the one loading bay and Tim and his mates were all standing around looking at it when a semi arrived to unload.

The trucker was so pissed that he couldn't unload his truck that he jumped on their old forklift and just picked the car up, and dumped it in the carpark. God knows what damage he did to it, but the woman must have just gotten into her car and driven away, because by the time they'd finished unloading the truck, her car was gone, and they never heard anything about it. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

A lot of larger stores here have areas at the ends of parking that are meant solely for bikes. The area generally has a lot of striped lines. Some even have signs designating motorcycle parking only and are the closes spots. Even closer than some handicap spots.

Sorry to hear about your incident there OP. I too hope that Karma opens a rather large can of Whoopass on them !

Yes, vehicle hit and run is very common and I really hate it. It's an accepted form of vandalism these days which sucks.

I too have intervened whenever seeing someone committing this commonly accepted crime and commend those that have as well.

When I lived in Germany, it was "Verboten" to touch another vehicle with your own while parking and considered leaving the scene of an accident if you did so.

I don't take my bike 75 CB 550F anywhere near shopping malls or car parks.
And if I do, I am following the advice of the poster to park on an inconspicuous part of the sidewalk. Well away from the wide turns of Mini Van drivers !

I usually use my 98 Jeep Cherokee for parking lot duty. It sits too high and armed with nice thick side moldings and 33 inch tires, people won't go near it !!!

Well, I parked at a store where almost all customers are from a large asian country.

I feel your pain.  It's too bad you don't shop where all the customers are from a large Canadian country.  ;D

Yes, I'm being a smart-ass.   :)

Has anyone ventured to think that maybe Soichiro is Asian, and perhaps some of this is offensive to him? I don't know whether he is or isn't, but I'm willing to bet we have some Asian members on this board.  In this same thread here this morning, there was a lot of female driver bashing going on and I could see where a female member took offense to the comments posted. I'm just saying....

If i got mad everytime someone around me, or on the TV or radio made some RETARD joke/comment (I have a son with Down Syndrome), i'd be mad all the time.
If I were CANADIAN (but i'm not) and someone made Canadian Retard jokes....THATS where i would draw the line!

My previous comment had a double meaning.  One, I was trying to point out in a humorous way that the 'asian country' factoid seemed superfluous, and two, that Bodi lives in Toronto, so those asian customers are from a large Canadian country.   ;D

I'm sorry flybox, it wasn't my intention to offend you.  I assume I offended you, or you felt like I was picking on your post only?

Yeah, I see your point...but then I was only making a statement of my observations in this thread. Nothing more, didn't publicly single anyone out, just making observations...

I would like to point out that, so far, the dominating gender pointed out in these stories (including yours) is male... not to make a fuss, but you could have easily left that part out.

You don't go shopping much then because i have seen the exact thing over and over again and all done by women.

Mick

You're right. In order to avoid being stereotyped I have decided to never, ever go shopping. In fact, I'm typing this from a stolen iphone in a hole in the ground where I live off of worms. My hair is now long enough to function as clothing.
