Here's my 78K with a set of drag bars on it.  It does have a GL front end on it, and the stock GL handlebar clamps are a probably about an inch higher than the 750 ones.  Riding position is very comfortable for me.  (5' 11").  The superbike bars that I ran before the GL conversion were very comfortable as well. . . . . .

seems the 400F bars would be a good choice too...

I have drag bars with the stock seat and pegs on my 550K.  I'm tall (6'3") and it actually is more comfortable for me than the stock bars.  With the stock bars and stock pegs, I felt like I was sitting on my tail bone all the time....now I'm more forward and it is more comfortable for me.  Looks way better too.

FYI, if you do drag bars (the 28" type that are readily available everywhere it seems), expect to have some clearance issues with the master cylinder.  You can fit it all on, but the brake handle will probably have to be angled up a bit further than you are used to.

I was just over to my friend's house the other day to help him change his bars.  He is using superbike bars with the stock seat and the look is much the same as the drag bars....but they are a bit wider with just a little bit of rise.  No clearance issues with those.  He was going to use the 400F bars, but they are significantly more expensive.

Good luck.

I'm a big fan of Superbike and Euro bars.  I've tried clubmans on all of my bikes and didn't like them at all with the stock footpegs.  Rearsets make that riding position much more comfortable.  Tall guys with longer arms seem to not have as much of a problem with clubmans and stock pegs because they don't have to lean forward as far to reach.

I am 5'10"/175 lbs and have a set of drag bars on my 350F.  It is perfectly comfortable, and I have put in quite a few 8 hour days without issue.  I like the weight distribution better in this configuration too.

I agree about using 400F bars.  The chrome is much higher quality, and they come pre-drilled.

Good day,

Also depends on the look your going for. I had a set of drag bars, which were comfortable, but didn't tickle my fancy. I ended up putting on a set of clubmans bars and that did the trick. Mind you, Gordon was right about the foot pegs... I'm 6' and found the pegs a little too far forward. Adjusting the degree of the peddle did help...

The only way to go is give them both a whirl and see how they fit you

Cheers,
Steve

i just want to get some lower ones. not nessasarily clubman, but just lower ones. the stock k6 ones are just a lil' too high for the bike. esspecialy considering i striped down the "70's" stuff. (rear grab bar, big tail light, big directionals, etc). i figured having clubman bars would require the pegs to be brought back. my 750 isnt going to be an all out cafe bike (i want a smaller bike for that. maybe a 500 or 550), but its definatly getting stripped down to look better. here's what i got so far

Meet Ol' Rusty. She's a 78 750K. Got her a few months ago. A definite work in progress, but running half decent. I have the whole rugged, worn look thing going on until I can decide on a new seat which I'll than paint along with the tank, til then, the Buick Regal of a stock seat is serving as a** cushion.

I added billet clipons and love the look and ride position.
