Topic: 130/90/16 and 5.00/16 measure the same diameter????????

 Hi I just wanted to know if 5.00/16 and 130/90/16 tires are the same overall diameter? What diameter do they measure? Thanks

In case you weren't sure,  130/90/16 says that the tyre is 130 mm wide and it is 90% of 130 deep. That is 117mm which is approx 4.7 inches deep and 5.1" wide .  So it is quite closely equivalent to 5.00/16. The 16 of course is the basic rim diameter for both.  Funny that they mix mm for tyre profile with inches for diameter. I bet it was another commitee that came up with that idea.

Can anyone do me a favor? If you are running a 130/90/16 rear mounted on a rim, can you get me a measurement from top to bottom? I'd appreciate it. Thanks
