I first saw the term PO just a few weeks ago on this forum and noted it means Previous Owner. The way some people use it, it seems like they're pissed.
Today that happened to me. Working out most of the bugs on my CB550, it was getting air, gas and spark but wouldn't start. With the #4 spark plug out, I turned the crank and saw a spark. I looked where the crank was positioned, near the 2-3 timing mark (Dyna ignition, by the way).
I had connected the coil wires correctly. The problem is, the PO (or someone he hired) put the wrong colors on the DYNA wiring. Kinda got me PO-ed but at least I figured it out. I plugged them as indicated and it was wrong. So I switched the DYNA wire color markers and fixed it.
The bike fired up!
Still a few issues to resolve:
- Get the starter button working.
- Install a new muffler when it arrives (MAC).
- See if the Honda will idle and run smoothly when I install the airbox and filter.
If feels good to get it back together again. Thanks to the forum members for your posts and replies to my questions!
